Te Marama is an interactive Moon atlas built in Aotearoa New Zealand. Almost every available Moon app and textbook shows the northern hemisphere's view, which ignores 13% of the world's population. Te Marama computes how the Moon actually appears from YOUR sky: the correct tilt, the correct lit edge, the correct rise and set times - for any location on Earth.

THE ATLAS - Explore both hemispheres with every named crater from the IAU Gazetteer (over 8,700 as you zoom in), all the maria, mountains and valleys. Three surfaces: NASA photographic imagery, a relief chart, and a hand-drawn-style pencil sketch, all derived from real spacecraft data.

EVERY MISSION - All 77 spacecraft that have touched the Moon: the six crewed Apollo landings, every robotic lander, every deliberate impact and every crash, 1959 to today, each verified against NASA records and plotted with its own symbol.

TONIGHT'S MOON - A scientifically accurate simulator: phase, terminator, distance, libration (with a true re-projected view), moonrise and moonset, plus a slow lunar-cycle animation. Astronomy computed with professional published algorithms using your device.
