The text is generated from the words currently in your study queue, at your CEFR level, in the length your schedule asks for. Tap any word to see its meaning and add it to study. Separable-prefix verbs, reflexives, verbs with a fixed preposition and idioms are marked as single units — so "ruft … an" or "sich freuen über" is explained as one thing, not three unrelated words.

A REAL DICTIONARY, NOT A WORD LIST More than 160,000 German entries, each one a full article: • full conjugation — present, Präteritum, imperative, subjunctive I/II, participles • noun gender, declension, plural; adjective comparison • government (Rektion): which preposition, which case, with examples • separability, reflexivity, and a grammar constructor that rebuilds the example as you switch them • idioms, collocations, compounds, word family, synonyms and antonyms • example sentences with translations, frequency and CEFR level, pronunciation playback Missing a word? REVIEWS THAT RESPECT YOUR MEMORY Scheduling runs on FSRS — the modern spaced-repetition algorithm — so a word you know comes back in weeks, and a word you keep missing comes back tomorrow.
