The balancer is why this app exists. Add whoever came, and it deals two sides that are level on strength and sensible in shape — a keeper each, the defenders shared out, never five at the back against five up front — then suggests a formation for both. Then it tells you the truth about the split: how far apart the two teams still are, per player, and every compromise it had to make. Only one natural keeper? It names who took the gloves. Odd numbers? It says which side plays a player short. Everyone the same position? It says the shape is a guess. Shuffle for a different, equally fair split.

RUNNING THE GAME Kick off and keep the match yourself: goals and assists, yellows and reds, substitutions, penalties, saves and the clock, with undo for the ones you tapped too fast. A draw goes to a penalty shootout, taken kick by kick. At full time there is a match report, you rate the players out of ten, and those ratings feed straight back into the next balance — so the teams get fairer the more you play.
