Session Whistle brings tin-whistle practice and a free Irish traditional tune book together on iPhone. Start with three lower-register notes, then put them into a short phrase at your own pace.

START FREE • Follow clear six-hole illustrations and written fingering instructions in First notes. • Hear reference notes for your selected whistle key, including Low D. • Try a five-note phrase and follow the free first-tune course. • Browse 3,000 community-sourced tunes offline, with staff notation, whistle tab and fingerings. • Slow playback, loop a passage and save session sets.

KNOW WHAT YOUR TAKE SHOWS The practice recap separates your pitch score from the number of notes heard. An unfinished phrase leaves your saved full-phrase best unchanged. Unheard notes receive no grade. Pitch practice does not assess rhythm.

Create a practice card from your take, preview it, and choose whether to share it. The card includes the pitch score and note coverage, with no microphone audio.

GO FURTHER WITH OPTIONAL PRO • Continue into the second-tune course and guided technique exercises. • Use Off the Page to reduce the notation, then try an opening phrase from memory without note hints or reference cues. • Practice rhythm separately by tapping the phrase at your chosen tempo. The tapping drill checks timing, not pitch. • Get additional teaching tools, unlimited on-device tune identification and typed technique answers for signed-in subscribers.

The 3,000-tune book stays free, with no ads or tune paywall. You can start without an app account. Existing Pro subscriptions remain supported; cancelling Pro does not remove the free tune book.

Microphone analysis takes place on your device. Your whistle audio is not recorded or uploaded. The optional text coach requires sign-in and sends the question you type for an answer; the app does not attach microphone audio, tune notation or practice history. Avoid including personal details or tune content in your question.

Pro is available as a one-time Lifetime purchase or as monthly and yearly subscriptions. Lifetime unlocks every on-device Pro feature; typed technique answers come with the subscriptions. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your Apple Account subscription settings. Local prices and any eligible introductory offer appear before purchase.
