Generation New Era - BabySteps

Generation New Era - BabySteps is for families invited to take part in Generation New Era, a UK-wide study following around 30,000 babies born in 2026 and their families.

BabySteps makes participation engaging by putting fun at the heart of study activities. Invited families can:

• complete quick, enjoyable in-app tasks
• play games as part of study participation
• earn rewards for taking part regularly
• support research on children’s development and family life in the UK
• Generation New Era is led by the Centre for Longitudinal Studies at University College London (UCL) and funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), part of UK Research and Innovation. Interviews are carried out by independent research organisations: Ipsos, NatCen and Verian.

Families are invited directly to take part. Participation is voluntary.
