Number Chain: Logic Puzzle

Just Number Chain is a calm take on the number-chain puzzle (sometimes known as Hidato or Numbrix). The board has some numbers already given. Fill in the rest so the numbers 1 to N form a continuous chain — and any two consecutive numbers must touch, including diagonally.

Two small rules govern the whole game:

1. Every cell on the board holds exactly one number from 1 to N.
2. Number k and number k+1 must sit in adjacent cells (up, down, left, right, OR diagonal).

Some boards have holes — empty spaces that the chain wraps around. The given numbers anchor the puzzle; from those, the rest of the chain is fully determined.

Simple rules, plenty of room to think.
