aesmsg is a privacy-first encryption layer for the messaging and email apps you already use. It turns sensitive content/passwords, API keys, environment variables, confidential files and notes into a secure link to ciphertext that only your intended recipient can open.
Encrypt before you send. Share through any app. Only the intended recipient can decrypt.
HOW IT WORKS
• Compose a message or attach a file in aesmsg.
• Your device encrypts it locally with AES-256-GCM, sealed to your recipient's public key.
• Only the ciphertext is uploaded, your plaintext and private keys never leave your device.
• You get a secure link. Paste it into Slack, WhatsApp, iMessage, email, SMS, Telegram, whatever you already use.
• Your recipient opens the link and the content is decrypted locally after a biometric unlock.
The apps people use to send credentials and confidential documents were never designed to keep that content private from the channel itself. aesmsg sits one layer above them, so the channel only ever carries an opaque link.
ZERO-KNOWLEDGE BY DESIGN
• End-to-end encrypted — content is encrypted and decrypted only on devices.
• Zero-knowledge backend — our servers only ever store ciphertext, never plaintext, private keys, or previews.
• Private keys stay on your device and never leave unless you export an encrypted backup yourself.
• A link without the recipient's private key is useless.
CONTROL THAT OUTLIVES SEND
• Self-destructing links: 10 minutes, 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days, or a custom window.
• Cap how many times a link can be opened.
• Revoke any link manually — revocation purges the ciphertext from the server.
PROTECTION FOR WHAT YOU OPEN
• Biometric unlock on every open.
• Clipboard auto-clears after you copy a secret.
• Screen contents are hidden when the app goes to the background.
VERIFY WHO YOU'RE TALKING TO
Every user has a cryptographic identity. Confirm a contact by comparing fingerprints or scanning a QR code, so you know exactly who can open what.
WHO IT'S FOR
• Developers and DevOps sharing API keys, secrets, and credentials.
• Legal and finance professionals sending confidential documents and PII.
• Agencies and teams handing off temporary access to clients and contractors.
• Anyone who wants an extra layer of privacy over the chat and email tools they already use.
aesmsg isn't another chat app to move your team onto. It's the encryption step you add before you send — through the apps you already have.
