A drink journal, at your pace
Now with widgets and Live Activities: see your state without opening the app. Real-time predictions, an estimated clear time, and reflection at your pace.
Log a drink and watch your estimated state unfold in real time, on the Lock Screen, the Dynamic Island, and Home Screen widgets, without opening the app. Nomicho is a record-predict-reflect app for adults 20 and over. Keep what you drank alongside how you felt, in an app designed from the ground up for drinkers in Japan, not localized from somewhere else.
Most drinking-related apps in Japan assume you want to cut down or quit. Nomicho is the opposite. It never nudges you to drink less and never scolds. It's a warm, friendly place to understand your own drinking, out of curiosity, at your own pace.
Three things at its heart. The core features are all free.
■ Record
Log the drinks you actually order at an izakaya or bar in one tap. Around 45 Japanese staples (draft beer, highball, lemon sour, oolong-hai, sake, shochu, umeshu and more) come built in, sorted by category and popularity. Even the size and serving differences (medium vs. large mug) are bundled in, so logging stays fast even when you're out.
- Create and save your own drinks. Make it once, and it's one tap from then on.
- Nomicho learns your usuals and floats them to the top.
- Edit any logged drink later: volume, ABV, time, even how long it took you to finish.
- Capture how you felt, too, with cute hand-drawn drink illustrations on screen.
For cans and bottles, scan the barcode (JAN). New products that aren't in the catalog yet get looked up automatically, so you're never limited to a fixed list.
■ Predict
See your estimated blood alcohol concentration (BAC) and how your state shifts in real time as you drink. The model accounts for meal timing and when you finish each drink, and for individual factors: sex, weight, height, how easily you flush, how often you drink. It's built on established alcohol pharmacokinetics, and its errors always lean toward caution, running high, never low.
- Log a meal and the curve adjusts, showing how food lowers your peak concentration.
- As your state climbs, Nomicho asks "how do you feel?" so you can see where the prediction and how you actually feel diverge.
- A hangover forecast (1–5). Tell it how the next day really went, and it learns, so the prediction gets closer to you over time.
- An estimated clear time, too: a cautious read of when your reading returns to zero.
It gives a quiet heads-up as you near a threshold you care about. It is not a measuring device. The figures are estimates only, and must never be used to decide whether it's "safe to drive."
■ Reflect
Browse past sessions on a calendar and tap into any day's recap. An AI card that looks back on that session's drinks, plus thirteen "insight" cards that surface your own patterns, bring the shape of your drinking into view.
- A heatmap of when you drink, your night-by-night curves, the rhythm of your usual hours.
- How each kind of drink relates to how you feel, your pure alcohol over time, prediction versus how you felt.
- Your favorites, and how the seasons shift what's in your glass.
- Calories and sugar over time, there for reflection too, and you can switch the display off in Settings anytime.
Monthly stats are gathered, too. Every card simply reflects the shape of things. It never grades you or tells you what to do next.
■ Privacy and your data
Nomicho is local-first and privacy-respecting. Every feature works without an account. Cloud sync is optional, stored in the Tokyo region. You can export your own data as JSON anytime. No ads, no behavioral tracking. Fully bilingual, with a soft, animation-rich design that's a world away from clinical health apps.
■ Nomicho Plus
The core features are all yours for free. Nomicho Plus (monthly or annual; the annual plan includes a 7-day free trial) opens up more:
- Your full calendar history.
- All thirteen insight cards.
- Unlimited AI reflections.
- Sync across multiple devices.
For users 20 and over. Nomicho is a tool for recording and reflection, not a medical product. Do not use it for medical or legal decisions.
