Bird Identifier — BirdPulse

Photo and Song ID Field Guide

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Snap a photo or record a song , BirdPulse identifies any bird in seconds. 10,000+ species, expert insights, and sound ID. Try free for 7 days.

You spot a bird on a branch. You wonder what it is. BirdPulse tells you in seconds.

Point your camera at it or record the song. The app does the rest. You get the name, the family, what it eats, where it lives, and a few things you probably didn't know.

PHOTO ID Tap to take a photo. You can zoom with pinch or use the 1x, 2x, and 5x buttons so birds further away still fit in frame without you having to creep closer and scare them off. The identification runs the moment you tap. Most birds come back in under five seconds.

SOUND ID Sometimes you hear a bird but can't see it. Tap record, wait a few seconds, and BirdPulse figures out what's singing. Works on songbirds, raptors, waterfowl, and a lot more. The sound model is the same kind of acoustic AI used in serious bird research.

A FIELD GUIDE WORTH READING Every bird you identify opens a clean detail page. Not just facts, but the kind of stuff that makes you want to keep reading. What it eats, where it nests, what time of year you'll hear it, how to tell it apart from look-alikes. You can save birds you want to remember and come back to them later.

BIRDS NEAR YOU A list of common birds people see and hear. American Robins, European Starlings, Indian Rollers, House Sparrows, depending on what's common globally. A starting point if you just want to learn the regulars.

FIELD NOTES Six in-depth guides on things real birders actually want to know. How to identify breeds quickly. The best times of day to go birding. How to attract songbirds to your yard. Why migration happens and when to watch for it. Hummingbird feeders that work. Each one is a proper read, not a paragraph stub.

BUILT TO BE QUICK No clutter. No ads. No login walls. Open the app, point at a bird, get an answer. The interface is dark and intentional so the photos and information do the talking, not the chrome.

PRIVACY Identifications stay on your device. Location is used only to show you birds common to your area, and only if you let it. We don't sell data. We don't track you across other apps.

WHO IT'S FOR The person who feeds birds in their yard and wants to know which ones show up. The parent on a walk with a curious kid. The traveler who saw something colorful in a tree and has no idea what it was. The birder who wants a fast, well-built tool to add to their kit. Anyone who's ever pointed at something in a tree and asked someone next to them what it was.
