SAFETY AND VERIFICATION

Closer is a verified community. Before booking, every member completes identity verification powered by Persona — a quick, secure check using a government-issued photo ID and a selfie for a biometric match. This keeps our events safe and makes sure you're meeting real, accountable people.

Verification includes an annual Trust & Safety fee of $19. It's payable before verification and is non-refundable once verification begins. It renews automatically each year — members re-verify annually to keep their spot in the community — and you can cancel anytime from your profile in the app.

Closer does not store your government ID images; they are processed by Persona in accordance with its privacy policy.

Events are hosted by trained Closer hosts who make sure everyone feels welcome and safe. You can report or block any user at any time directly from the app, and we review every report.

App features — event browsing, profiles, messaging, and matchmaking — are free to use. Verification and the Trust & Safety fee grant access to book real, in-person Closer events.
