Features & Capabilities

The science-backed Language Learning method gets you fluent in 15 minutes a day.

Our learning flow is built by the HyperLingua team, drawing on established language learning principles including natural language acquisition techniques.

The focus is on practical, real-world communication rather than grammar-heavy study: build vocabulary first, train pronunciation by listening and repeating, and reinforce memory through active recall.

Practical over theoretical Focus on real-world communication — not grammar worksheets.

Vocabulary Comes First The foundation for fluency is vocabulary, not grammar. Aim to learn at least 30 new words a day using mnemonic associations. This is the element with the greatest impact on your progress.

Pronunciation Is Critical You must learn to recognize words and produce them accurately. Daily listening and repeating drills are essential for developing good pronunciation and rhythm.

Grammar Is Absorbed, Not Studied Grammar is learned by seeing correct sentences in context and using them, instead of drilling rules. Grammar "comes with" massive input and output.

Active Recall + Retrieval Practice The single most powerful exercise is active recall with retrieval practice. Translate sentences aloud from your native language into the target language, check corrections, and repeat until you make nearly no mistakes.

Shadowing & Repetition Listening and repeating (shadowing) is the optimal method for improving fluency and pronunciation. Listen to native audio and repeat entire sentences aloud, matching the native speaker's cadence and intonation. Do at least 5 minutes a day (10-15 minutes ideal).

For everyone 40+ languages, completely free, built for self-learners worldwide.

I’m a native English speaker learning Japanese. I’d love to give a 5 star because the concept of learning in this manner is very promising and in a lot of ways does work. However it would be a great help if they would add another line with English with the same sentence structure as the Japanese to help figure out which word is which. Until this happens you will be left with googling every word until you have them all written down sucking up a lot of study time. And then you will learn quickly.

I’ve been trying to learn Spanish for the past few years and found Mikel’s YouTube channel about a year ago. His approach is totally different than any gamified app or legacy language program. The magic in his system is focusing on learning exactly what you’re wanting to say for each level you’re at or the exact situation you’re in, then scale outward from there. Other apps or programs give you random words or conjugations, then expect you to build native sentences. You end up being paralyzed because it feels like homework. The truth is that you need to drill and listen to how to natively talk about your day or order food so you have confidence saying basic, yet highly useful things. It’s better to make some mistakes but get your idea across vs trying to be perfect in the beginning - stop trying to master tenses and master what you’re trying to say! He recommends you start with the 300 Q&As in your language, then you read and listen to them, then speak along, then do active recall. You can even download the sentences offline and listen to them over and over again. His approach has made a huge difference in my ability to have conversations. I am SO happy there is finally an app built for this so that I can stop manually building sentences, adding to a TTS tool to listen, making flash cards, etc. Please do yourself a favor and try this app. You can learn a language, you just need to focus on high reps of useful sentences! Thanks Mikel and team!!

I’ve tried every major language learning app you can think of and used AI tools like ElevenLabs and Claude—this is better than everything.
