FlyTalkie turns your iPhone into a walkie-talkie that works without Wi-Fi or cellular. Pair with nearby devices using Apple's Wi-Fi Aware technology and start talking instantly — on flights, camping trips, festivals, or anywhere you don't have signal.

How it works:

Voice Calls Crystal-clear voice calls using the Opus codec at 48 kHz. Calls continue seamlessly when you switch apps or lock your screen. Mute, see audio levels, and track call duration in real time.

Text Messaging Send text messages instantly over local wireless. Messages queue automatically when your contact is temporarily out of range and deliver when they reconnect.

Find Your Group (Radar) Lost each other at a festival or on a trail? Optionally share your live location with a contact you choose and see their distance and direction on a private map. Location sharing is off by default, turned on per contact, end-to-end encrypted, and only ever sent to the contact you pick.

When a contact is out of range and you're both online, FlyTalkie can optionally deliver messages, calls, and location through an end-to-end-encrypted relay so they still get through.

Privacy First Your conversations stay between you and your contacts — no accounts, no analytics, no tracking. Nearby chats and calls are fully peer-to-peer; when a contact is remote, delivery uses a zero-knowledge, end-to-end-encrypted relay that can't read your content. Messages and shared location are end-to-end encrypted with Apple's CryptoKit.
