Tap record and Synopsule captures from your microphone while a live transcript appears as you speak. Meetings, interviews, lectures, voice notes, a conversation across the table — capture it and read it back word for word. No internet connection required to transcribe.

TRANSCRIBES LOCALLY WITH WHISPER

OpenAI's open-source Whisper model runs entirely on your iPhone, optimized for Apple silicon. Choose a model size that fits your phone — from a fast 39 MB model to a 1.5 GB model with the best accuracy. The download size is always shown up front, and the model runs on-device once it's installed.

LABELS SPEAKERS, AND RECOGNIZES THEM

When a recording finishes, Synopsule figures out who said which line and assigns colored speaker labels — on device. Name a voice once and it recognizes that person in later recordings, marking the line with a "Recognized" chip. Rename "Speaker 1" to "Maria" and it propagates through the whole transcript. A speaker directory tracks people across recordings, and telling Synopsule how many people are talking before you start sharpens the result. Voiceprints never leave your iPhone.

NOTES AND FLAGS, ANCHORED IN TIME

Jot notes while you record or read — each is pinned to the moment, so tap to seek straight back, and your notes fuse into the AI summary as context. Drop a flag on anything worth finding again and give it a label; every flag lives in one place and jumps you right to the moment.

OPTIONAL AI SUMMARIES, ON YOUR TERMS

Press Summarize, pick a template (one-on-one, standup, sales call, interview, lecture, clinical SOAP, legal, user research), and get a structured, speaker-aware recap with action items and open follow-ups. Then choose where it runs:

• Bring your own OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini key. Transcript text goes directly to that provider. • On an Apple-Intelligence iPhone (iPhone 15 Pro or newer, iOS 26), summarize on-device — nothing leaves at all. • Or subscribe to Synopsule Pro and we'll run summaries for you, with no key to manage.

Synopsule names the destination and asks consent before any text leaves your phone. Your audio is never sent anywhere — only transcript text, only when you ask, and you can revoke consent any time in Settings.

Full-text search runs across every transcript you've made. Filter by who spoke using speaker: queries to jump straight to the right moment.

EXPORT ANYWHERE

Export to whichever format fits: Markdown, Word (.docx), plain text, SRT and VTT subtitles, or interactive HTML — or send a transcript straight into Obsidian or Apple Notes in one tap. Choose what to include — timestamps, speaker labels, grouping by speaker, and the AI summary.

PRIVACY YOU CAN VERIFY

• Audio is captured and transcribed on your iPhone. It is never uploaded. • Transcripts live in the app's protected storage. Delete any recording whenever you want. • No ads, and no cross-app tracking. Your audio and transcripts are never used for analytics. Optional, anonymous product analytics help us improve the app and can be turned off in Settings.
