aurapantry bingo for film fans
You finish a film and stare at the homepage. Twenty minutes later you're still staring.
Our app is built for that moment.
It turns "what should I watch" into a game with rules. Every board is a 5×5 grid of cinematic challenges — directed by a woman, runtime under eighty minutes, originally in a language you don't speak, a hidden gem with a high score and almost no votes, something from the year you were born. Twenty-five prompts. Twenty-five films you would never have chosen on your own.
Tap a square and Our app lays out a curated set of films that actually satisfy the brief. Pick one. Stamp the square. Move on. Complete a row, a column, or a diagonal and the BINGO meter fills. Complete a board and it lands in your Trophy Room as a permanent record of where your taste went this month.
THE GAME LOOP
— A live 5×5 board on the home tab, with a stamp count and a bingo meter
— Briefs index: twenty-six cinematic prompts you can browse like a working deck
— Custom Board Builder: hand-pick twenty-four challenges, give the board a name, generate
— Themed starter boards: Eclectic Mix, Around the World, Hidden Gems
— Brief view per square: criteria explained, sample picks, search inside the constraint
— Trophy Room: lifetime ledger, stamp gallery, eight unlockable badges
— Movie-night reminders pushed to your iOS calendar
— Share a board with a friend in one tap via a deep link that opens straight in their copy of the app
— Built natively in SwiftUI for iPhone and iPad, with custom typography and a paper-and-ink visual feel
WHY IT EXISTS
Recommendation algorithms are good at giving you more of what you already like. Our app does the opposite. The squares are constraints, and constraints are how taste actually grows — not from another row of "because you watched." A board nudges you toward the foreign thriller, the seventy-eight-minute experimental short, the 1962 noir you would otherwise scroll past forever.
It is the difference between being fed and being asked. Our App asks.
THE EDITORIAL FEEL
Every screen is composed like a film programme: serif italic headlines, mono kickers, registration marks at the corners, ink stamps that mean something. There are no clapperboards, popcorn icons, or "let's go!" copy. The voice is dry and deliberate. The board is a 5×5 grid of paper tiles. The Briefs index reads like a working deck. The Trophy Room is laid out like a laureate ledger. Every detail page is a programme card.
NO ACCOUNT. NO TRACKING.
There is no sign-in. There is no profile. There is no analytics SDK and no advertising identifier. Your boards, your stamps, and your trophies live on your device. Our app doesn't collect any of it. Our app doesn't have a server that could.
WHAT THIS APP IS NOT
Our app doesn't host or play films. It doesn't recommend based on your viewing history. It doesn't subscribe you to anything. It points you toward a film, tells you where you can find it, and gets out of the way.
CREDITS
Film metadata, posters, and search results are sourced from a public film database via the standard developer API. Our app follows the database's attribution and use guidelines but is not endorsed or certified by them.
