The ground beneath your station never stops moving. Read three instruments, find the one well that is really moving, and pull its lever before the window closes.

You are on shift at Caldera 13, a geothermal station built into the wall of an active mountain. The manifold never stops moving. Your job is to keep it balanced, catch the real events, and not touch anything that is not actually wrong.

There is no panic button. Every well has its own shutoff lever, and pulling the wrong one costs you just as much as missing the right one. The only way to be sure is to read the instruments and cross check them against each other.

CASCADE Three live gauges per well, pressure, temperature, and flow, plus a manual valve you have to keep re grabbing all shift, because it drifts the moment you let go.

VENT RADAR A rotating sweep tracking every probe. Only the probe under your reticle reads clean. Everything else fades to static the second you look away.

LISTENING POST Clip an acoustic sensor onto one well at a time. A genuine event produces a real rising tone. Noise never does. This is your tie breaker when the cascade and the radar do not agree.

No two shifts play the same. Every session is generated fresh, with its own schedule of real events hidden inside ordinary manifold noise. As shifts go on, more wells and probes come online, coupling between them gets delayed and non linear, and the swarm phase makes even your instruments start interfering with each other.

Reliability and your downtime fund carry over between shifts. Fatigue builds across a long shift and starts to show on the console itself, so pace yourself.
