Built around three ideas:

• Your iPhone is the archive. Documents stay on this device. iCloud sync is optional and uses your own iCloud — never our servers. • You should find the page, not the file. Every word you scan is searchable from inside Scan and from the iPhone Spotlight pull-down. • The papers that matter most are the personal ones. Tag people, build a family timeline, export a single .zip when you're done.

The Apple Vision framework reads printed and machine text without sending anything to a server. — Twelve smart categories. One tap to re-categorize, and Scan remembers what you taught it. — Per-document field extraction. Holder, dates, amounts, parties — surfaced where you can read them at a glance. — iPhone Spotlight integration (Pro). Pull down your Home Screen, type, find any page across years of scans. — Encrypted PDF export (Pro). AES password protection, with the OCR text layer included so the PDF stays searchable for the recipient. — Expiration reminders + widget (Pro). — No account. Scan does not require an email address or sign-in. — No servers. There is no Scan backend. Documents stay on this iPhone or in your own iCloud. — No tracking. No analytics SDK. No crash reporters that phone home. — No watermarks on the free tier. Free users get 30 lifetime documents with the same scanner and OCR engine, just without Spotlight, encrypted PDFs, iCloud, reminders, or Family Archive. — No countdown timers in the paywall. No paywall before you've scanned anything.
