WHY ANY OF THIS MATTERS Makeup doesn't last forever. Once a product is past its date, its ingredients break down and bacteria have somewhere to grow — which is why old mascara and eyeliner get linked to eye infections, and old lip products to sores. And every item that expires half-used is money spent and plastic thrown out.

Meiki includes short, readable notes on all of this, so the app tells you why it's nudging you, not just when.
