Private notes, offline summary
Some days you will not want to record anything new. Pith Voice plays yesterday's entry back in your own voice instead, which is often enough to get you started again.
Talk for a minute. Get back a transcript, a two-sentence summary, and the few themes you keep circling.
Tap record, say what happened, stop. In seconds all three are on the screen. Apple's Speech framework writes the transcript, Apple Intelligence writes the summary and draws the themes, and both run on the iPhone in your hand, so neither step needs a network. Put the phone in airplane mode and Pith Voice behaves exactly the same. There is no account to make.
SPEAK WHEN YOU CANNOT WRITE
The entry that never gets written is usually the one you had to type. Talking for sixty seconds is not work. Pith Voice takes the talking and hands back something written: the transcript, the summary underneath it, and the themes underneath that.
HOW A DAY GOES
Tap to record. Speak. Stop. Your transcript appears, followed by a kind two-sentence summary and a few quiet thematic tags: the things you keep coming back to. You can read it once and close the app. The act of having said it is the point.
THREADS, NOT GRAPHS
Once a week, Pith Voice offers a Threads view: the strongest 3 to 4 themes of the past seven days, a sentence on each, and the entry sitting behind each one. No streak counters. No heat maps. No badges. Just the shape of what you have been carrying.
READ ME BACK
Some days you do not want to make anything new. Pith Voice plays back yesterday's entry in your own voice, proof to yourself that yesterday existed. It is the on-ramp back, after the missed weeks.
WHAT PITH VOICE DOES NOT DO
It never replies to you, and it never suggests what to talk about. It has no account and makes no API calls, and it does not sync to iCloud unless you export something yourself. The journal is yours; Pith Voice only makes it easier to keep.
WHAT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
- All transcription runs on-device (Apple Speech, on-device recognition)
- All AI summaries run on-device (Apple Intelligence, Foundation Models)
- No accounts, no servers, no analytics SDKs, no telemetry
- No iCloud sync by default (export is manual and explicit)
- Your words are never uploaded and never trained on
- Verifiable via Tracker Control or any network proxy
WHAT YOU NEED
iOS 26 or later, for the on-device transcription. Apple Intelligence on your iPhone, for the on-device summary and themes. After that, nothing: no connection, no sign-in, no sync. The whole app runs offline.
WHAT IT COSTS
Your first two entries are free, with the full transcript, the summary and the themes. The paywall appears after that. Weekly and Annual both start with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Lifetime is a one-time purchase, if you would rather pay once and never think about it again.
Pith Voice is made by Hadger, a one-person iOS studio that ships calm, private apps for iPhone.
