BRINGING IN OR TAKING OUT

Toggle between "Bringing in" and "Taking out" to track whether material is coming onto site or being excavated and removed. Essential for skip hire and waste disposal planning.

MARGIN OF SAFETY

Every calculation includes an adjustable margin of safety (waste factor). Sensible defaults are set per material — 10% for soil export, 5% for concrete — but you can set any value including decimals like 6.5% or 12.5%. Tips appear for materials where compaction or swell are common causes of under-ordering.

SAVE AND SHARE JOBS

Save calculations to named jobs — "Johnson patio", "Smith driveway" — with optional notes. The Jobs tab shows totals per material, split between what you're bringing in and what you're taking out, so you can send a single message to your supplier.
