Type "milk" and it lands in Dairy. Type "Twix" and it lands in Snacks. A 1,300-item UK grocery dictionary ships inside the app, so categorisation is instant — no internet round-trip required.

Pick your supermarket — Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl, Waitrose, M&S Food, Co-op, Iceland, or Costco — and the list rearranges to match the aisle layout you'll actually walk. Morrisons puts meat and bakery at the front; Lidl leads with bakery; Costco inverts everything because the warehouse format reads back-to-front. Each preset is tuned to that chain's typical store.

Share a list with the people you live with. Add coriander on your phone, your partner sees "you just added coriander" appear on theirs. No "sync now" button — it just is. Works across two phones, three phones, however many are in your house.

SHOPPING MODE When you're at the shop, switch to Shopping Mode. Dark screen for fluorescent supermarket lighting, big checkboxes for fast tapping, items grouped by aisle. Forgot something? Quick-add capsule at the bottom of the screen. When you've ticked the last item, a celebration cover earns the moment — "Done — nice one".

NEARBY STORES Out and about? The map screen shows supermarkets near you with brand-coloured pins. Tap one to either start a list anchored to that specific store, or get driving directions in Apple Maps.

PRIVACY BY DEFAULT No ads. No tracking across other apps or websites. No selling your data. Your location is read only when you actively use Nearby Stores, and it never leaves your phone. Sign in with Apple, Google, or email. Delete your account at any time and your data goes with it.

BUILT FOR THE UK Ticklyst is designed for UK shoppers — en-GB spellings, UK supermarket chains, brand names British shoppers actually type ("Marmite", "Aptamil", "Hobnobs", "Lucozade"). One day there'll be other countries; for now, UK is the focus.
