Midwest Wetland Delineations
Automated/Electronic Midwest Wetland Data Forms
Aqualf is a professional field data entry app specifically for completing the USACE Midwest Region Wetland Determination Data Form (Version 2.0). Built by a Professional Wetland Scientist for environmental consultants and agencies on a budget! It replaces paper forms with a structured digital workflow designed to work entirely offline. No account, no internet, and no data ever leaving your device.
WHAT AQUALF DOES
-Project Management: Create projects and manage multiple sample plots per site.
-Structured Entry: Enter field data across four tabs per plot: Hydrology, Vegetation, Soils, and Summary.
-Auto-Calculations: Instant dominance test, prevalence index, and FAC-neutral test results as you enter vegetation data.
-Hydric Soil Engine: Suggests hydric soil indicators (A1–F21) based on horizon data, evaluated against USDA NRCS Field Indicators of Hydric Soils v9.0 (2024).
-Field Warnings: Flags complex indicators (A18, S6, F8, F12, F21) that require specific field confirmation, landform context, or regional testing before application.
-Official PDF Export: Generates a multi-page PDF that mirrors the official USACE Midwest v2.0 form layout, ready for report attachment or permit application.
-Seamless Sharing: Export via AirDrop, Files, email, or any standard iOS share sheet destination.
PLANT DATABASE
-Primary: 2,860-species Midwest National Wetland Plant List (USACE, 2022 edition).
-Fallback: 37,109-species USDA PLANTS database for species not found on the regional NWPL (defaults to UPL).
SOIL INDICATOR ENGINE
-Suggestions are evaluated against USDA NRCS v9.3 (2026) criteria for the Midwest region, covering A, S, and F indicators. Tap any info button for the full criteria and technical field notes.
