BirdWatch processes audio entirely on-device using Apple's Sound Analysis framework. No recordings are ever stored, uploaded, or transmitted. We don't collect any personal data, ever. There are no accounts, no ads, no trackers, and no servers — your watch does all the work.

WHAT TO EXPECT

BirdWatch identifies birds at the family or common-name level — for example, "Crow", "Songbird", or "Hummingbird" — using Apple's general-purpose sound classifier. It's purpose-built for fast, in-the-moment recognition on your wrist. For precise species ID under tough acoustic conditions, pair it with a dedicated tool like Merlin or eBird.
