IP Cameras: Live · Replay · AI
Self-hosted camera recording & AI analysis. Ultra-low-latency live view, real-time detection overlay, smart event search & AI summaries — your data, your storage.
Skyview is a viewer and management app for home and small-business
cameras. It pairs with a Skyview server you run yourself, and is
designed for IP cameras that speak the RTSP / ONVIF standard.
— What this is —
Skyview is NOT a public cloud service and does not connect your
cameras to the internet for you. You first set up the Skyview server
on a PC, NAS, or mini-PC at home, attach your cameras to it, and then
use this app on iPhone / iPad to view and manage everything. All
video and events stay on your own hardware — nothing is uploaded to
any third-party cloud.
— Features —
LIVE VIEW
• Grid dashboard with live thumbnails of every camera at a glance
• Tap any camera for full-screen view; low-latency WebRTC by default,
with automatic fallback to HLS on weaker networks
• Two-way talk (push-to-talk) for talking with family or warning off
strangers
• PTZ control: pan, tilt, zoom, and preset recall on supported cameras
TIMELINE PLAYBACK
• Smooth, second-precision timeline scrubbing
• Variable-speed playback, jump to any moment
• Highlights segments that contain events or recorded footage
• Save clips to your iPhone's Photos library
AI EVENTS & ALERTS
Powered by the detection pipeline on your server, the app receives
and displays:
• Motion, person, vehicle, and pet detection
• Face recognition (enroll family members in-app; get a separate
alert for unknown faces)
• License-plate recognition
• Fall detection (helpful for homes with elderly family members)
• Custom detection zones, sensitivity, and quiet hours
Push notifications arrive on iPhone the moment an event fires; tap
to jump straight to the moment in the recording.
EVENT CENTER
• Reverse-chronological event feed with thumbnails and type tags
• Filter by camera, event type, and time range
• Jump directly to the recorded video at the event's timestamp
USERS & SHARING
• Multiple accounts can sign in to the same server
• Admins create standard users and limit which cameras they see
• Change password, sign out, and switch servers from inside the app
RECORDING & STORAGE
• Server records each camera in segments; the app shows free space
and retention days per camera
• Direct playback links with seek and speed control
VOICE ANNOUNCEMENTS (Optional)
• If you enable server-side automation, cameras can speak a phrase
out loud when an event triggers (for example, "Unknown visitor
detected — owner has been notified"), turning monitoring into
active deterrence.
— What you'll need —
- An RTSP / ONVIF compatible IP camera (most home IPCs qualify)
- An always-on PC, NAS, or mini-PC to run the Skyview server
- After the one-time server setup, enter your server address in
this app and sign in.
Cameras that use proprietary protocols (Tapo, Mi Home, Wyze, etc.)
need to be bridged to RTSP first using a tool such as go2rtc.
— Privacy —
• All video, recordings, and AI results live on YOUR server
• Push notifications carry only event type and camera name — no
imagery is sent through Apple's push pipeline
• The app collects no analytics, contains no third-party tracking

— About offline use —
This app depends on your home server. If the server is offline or
unreachable, live and recorded video are not available. Run the
server on hardware that stays on 24/7, and configure a stable
remote-access method on your home network (see the server
documentation for details).
