Recipeculator turns your supplier prices into the numbers that actually run a food business: what each recipe costs, what each product costs to sell, and what a whole menu costs before you shop for it.

COST EVERY RECIPE PROPERLY • Enter what you buy and what you pay — Recipeculator works out the cost of every recipe from it • Unit prices that make sense: per kg, per litre, per plate, per piece • Weight, volume and count units convert automatically, including cross-conversions by density • Sub-recipes: use a stock, sauce or dough as an ingredient in another recipe • Batch scaling for large orders

COUNT THE COSTS THAT AREN'T INGREDIENTS • Electricity, gas, labour and packaging, charged at rates you set once • Change a rate and every recipe using it reprices at a stroke • Say whether a cost multiplies with batch size — an oven two batches share doesn't, labour does • Anything billed by the hour can follow the recipe's prep time automatically • Add your own: water, delivery, equipment time

A SHOPPING LIST THAT ADDS ITSELF UP • One consolidated list for the whole menu, already scaled • Ingredients used in several recipes are added together • Quantities in the units you actually buy in • Tick items off as you shop, with the current price beside each one • Photograph the receipt and the total, date and shop are read for you, then compared with your estimate

COST WHAT YOU ACTUALLY USE • Set a waste percentage on any ingredient — 1 kg of tomatoes yielding 900 g usable costs what it really costs • Shopping lists gross quantities back up, so you buy enough • Ingredients whose price hasn't been updated in months are flagged, so nothing is costed on last year's invoice
