BudgetPulse is an iOS budgeting app designed specifically for managing personal monthly expenses. Upon opening the app, the homepage immediately displays an orange overview card presenting your total monthly budget, the amount already spent, and your remaining balance; the number of overspent categories is visible at a glance, eliminating the need to sift through individual bills. Users can set specific monthly spending caps for nine major fixed categories—such as housing, dining, transportation, and health—and a progress bar updates in real-time as each expense is logged. When spending within a category reaches 80% of its limit, the progress bar automatically turns amber to signal a warning; if the limit is exceeded, it turns red and displays "Over!", establishing a three-tier alert system: "Normal → Warning → Overspent." The Charts page features a donut chart that clearly visualizes the budgetary allocation for each category; by comparing these planned allocations against actual spending, the discrepancy between your financial plan and reality becomes instantly apparent.

Unlike most budgeting software currently on the market, BudgetPulse does not track income, offer financial advice, require an internet connection, or upload any data—all information resides exclusively on your local device. It deliberately eschews a "comprehensive-but-bloated" approach to focus on solving a single, genuine pain point: for most people, the issue isn't a lack of awareness that they are spending money, but rather a lack of clarity regarding exactly where that money is going and which specific spending categories have spiraled out of control. Through a dual-dimensional management system—organized by both month and category—BudgetPulse empowers users to identify potential issues before the month ends, rather than leaving them to pore over bills with regret in hindsight.
