Altkata helps you learn alternative investments through short, focused study sessions you can finish every day. It's a general-purpose alts learning tool, not exam-prep software — if you're sitting for the CAIA exams, the curriculum overlap helps you prepare as a side effect.

How it works • Atomic exercises — each one tests a single concept (a definition, a regulatory threshold, a calculation). • The app grades every answer — unlike paper flashcards where you decide if you got it right, Altkata checks each response against an authoritative key. You see whether you're right, the correct answer, and a one-line explanation. • Spaced repetition — the FSRS algorithm schedules each card so you review it just before you'd forget it. • Daily, bounded sessions — finish your due reviews and a small batch of new cards, then the app stops. No infinite scroll, no streaks-as-pressure. • Optional hands-free mode — off by default. Turn on voice in Settings and Altkata reads each exercise aloud, listens for your spoken answer, and keeps reading while your phone is in your pocket or the screen is locked. • Optional iCloud sync — pick up on iPad or Mac where you left off on iPhone, if you want. Local-only is a first-class mode.

What's covered 1,630 exercises across 53 topics in the foundations of alternative investments — accounting and financial-statement fundamentals, private equity, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure, commodities, structured products, digital assets (blockchains, Bitcoin, stablecoins, DeFi), manager selection, due diligence, and the regulatory and tax frameworks that govern them. The CAIA Level I body of knowledge is one reference point, complemented by foundational primers in accounting, statistics, economics, and fixed income that teach each prerequisite before it's needed.

Privacy This app sends no data anywhere except your own iCloud (when iCloud is available). If you use the in-app Report Issue screen, it opens a prefilled email you review and send yourself; nothing leaves your device unless you send it. Crash and diagnostic reports go through Apple's standard, anonymized channel and reach only the developer.

No accounts. No third-party SDKs. No analytics. No ads. No tracking. The app does not phone home.
