PawMap helps dog owners answer that question fast. Search any cafe, park, beach or shop and see whether dogs are welcome — and under what rules. Then record the walk itself.

PawMap is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any council or government. Off-leash rules, fines and on-the-ground signage are set by the relevant council, not by PawMap. Signs at the park always win.

RECORD YOUR WALKS

Tap Walk on the map and PawMap traces where you go. Put your phone in your pocket and keep walking — recording carries on while the phone is locked, so the route doesn't stop where your attention did.

Every walk is kept under Me → Walks: the route on a map you can pan and zoom, how far you went, how long you were moving, and which council off-leash areas you passed through. Add your dogs and say who came along on each one. Sign in and your walks follow you to a new phone.

HONEST ABOUT WHAT WE KNOW

Policy data combines council records with reports from real dog owners, and every report is reviewed by a moderator before it goes live. Each place carries a trust signal, so you can tell confirmed information from inferred information.

Most councils publish which parks allow off-leash but not the hours. Where PawMap holds no hours for an area, it says so and points you at the posted signage rather than guessing. Where it holds no boundary for a council at all, it tells you that too — an area PawMap cannot check is never shown as an area you didn't cross.

PRIVACY

• No ads, and nothing about you is sold or shared for advertising • The location used to centre the map and find nearby places is used as you go and is not stored on our servers • Recorded walks are different, and we'd rather be clear about it: PawMap keeps the route, and when you are signed in it is stored on your account so your walks reach your other devices. At least 150 metres is trimmed from the start and end of every walk before it is saved anywhere, so a walk never shows where you live. • Your walks are never shown to other users and are never added to any shared or public map • Location is recorded only while a walk you started is running, and never when one isn't • Delete a single walk, or everything, from inside the app • Sign in with Apple, or with email via a one-time code. No passwords.
