TheBodyart: Personal Journal is a personal tattoo
tracker and diary for anyone who approaches
their body as a canvas and wants a complete,
organized, and meaningful record of every piece
of ink — from the first idea to the final healed result.
It combines a tattoo collection gallery, an
interactive body map, an idea and sketch archive,
an aftercare tracker, an artist catalog, a
financial log, and a personal diary into one
structured app built around the full lifecycle
of a tattoo.
MY COLLECTION
Add every tattoo with a photo or manually without
one. Each entry includes a personal name, date,
artist, studio, style, body zone, size, color
or black and white, personal meaning, quote
or dedication, session cost, session count,
and current status. Statuses include idea,
in progress, healing, ready, and needs updating.
Add multiple photos to a single tattoo: process,
fresh, healing stages, and final result.
Browse in grid, list, or timeline view.
Sort by date, style, zone, or artist.
Search by name or tag.
BODY MAP
An interactive body silhouette showing front
and back projections, arms, and legs. Every
zone with a tattoo is highlighted. Tap any
zone to see all tattoos located there. A
coverage indicator shows what percentage of
zones are occupied. Suggestions show which
zones are still free and which are most
popular in your collection. Mark your next
planned zone directly on the map.
IDEAS AND SKETCHES
Store future tattoo concepts with a photo
of the sketch, reference, or screenshot —
or just a text description. Categorize as
definitely doing, considering, experimental,
or postponed. Link each idea to a body zone,
a specific artist, or a preferred style.
Mark an idea as realized and it moves
automatically to your collection. A timeline
shows when the idea first appeared and how
long it took to become a tattoo.
AFTERCARE TRACKER
When a new tattoo is added, an aftercare
protocol launches automatically. Set custom
reminders for cream application, sun protection,
follow-up inspection, and return visits to
the artist. Log every care action with date
and notes. Track healing status through four
stages: first days, peeling, stabilization,
and complete. View care history for each
tattoo separately. Static aftercare tips
are provided based on body zone and work size.
ARTIST CATALOG
Build a personal directory of every artist
you have worked with. Each card includes
name and alias, studio and city, style
specialization, contact details including
Instagram and phone, a personal rating from
one to five, personal notes, and photos
of their work from your collection. See
a full history of every tattoo from each
artist and the total amount spent with them.
Status options include currently working with,
recommended, and archived.
FINANCES
Log every tattoo-related expense: sessions,
touch-ups, aftercare products, sun protection,
and other costs. Each entry includes type,
amount, date, and a link to a tattoo or artist.
View total investment across your entire
collection. Charts showing spending by artist,
style, body zone, month, and year. Average
cost per tattoo. Add expected costs to ideas
in your wishlist for future planning.
DIARY
Free-form personal entries with date, tattoo
link, optional photo, and tags: session,
reflection, reaction, memory, or plans.
A chronological feed of all entries. Full
text and tag search. A this day section
surfaces a random past entry or tattoo —
a reminder of where the collection began
and how it has grown.
STATISTICS
Total tattoo count. Style distribution as
a pie chart. Body zone distribution. Year-by-year
dynamics. Most active period. Most frequent
style and most frequent artist. Total session
count. Average time between tattoos. A diversity
index rating the range of styles and zones
in your collection. Progress toward a personal
goal if one has been set.
