[About the name "Rushi"] From the opening of the Diamond Sutra: "Thus have I heard" (如是我聞). We hope the app feels like those two words - quiet, honest, sparing.

Read Full Diamond Sutra and Heart Sutra (public-domain Kumarajiva and Xuanzang translations). Five font sizes, multiple paper backgrounds, paragraph bookmarks, fully offline.

108-bead Mala Bead counter (adjustable 18-108). Five sounds: wooden fish, bell, chime, om, bead. Haptic feedback, history log, weekly and monthly goals, dedication on completion.

Sutra Calligraphy Trace regular-script (Kaishu) templates with finger or stylus. Save your works to a personal collection. Export to PDF.

[Why a paid download] Full features unlocked at download. No in-app purchases. All v1.x updates are free. We do not sell subscriptions, do not show ads, do not request your contacts, and do not track any behavioral data.

[Respect for practice] We never show a rating prompt while you chant with closed eyes. No "X-day streak" badges, no gamification of practice. The app stays out of your way.

[Transparent sources] Sutra texts from CBETA Chinese Electronic Tripitaka (public-domain Kumarajiva and Xuanzang translations), NDL Digital Collections, KABC, Wikisource, and other openly available scholarly archives. Bead sounds from FreeSound (CC0) and self-recorded. All sources are listed in the in-app About page.

[v1.0 sutra text coverage] Full sutra text is included in 9 languages: Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, French, German, Tibetan.

The user interface is also localized in 7 additional languages (Thai, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Italian, Indonesian, Hindi). Sutra text in these languages is not yet shipped and will be added in future updates as public-domain or properly licensed editions become available.

[About the developer] This is my first iOS app, made by a solo Buddhist practitioner. No third-party SDKs. No external servers. Feedback is welcome via the in-app About page.
