The Garage Sale App

Run a multi-seller garage sale like a pro. Track sales per seller, scan barcodes, split payments, issue refunds, and print receipts — all from your phone. New in v1.5: hands-free Voice Mode lets you ring up a stack of items just by speaking. Also a great app for flea & farmers markets.

• Multi-Seller Support Set up as many color-coded sellers (parties) as you need before the sale (free version limited to 2 parties). Every item added to the cart is attributed to a specific seller. At checkout you get a clear per-seller breakdown, and the Reports screen shows each seller's total revenue, tax owed, and full transaction history.

• Voice Mode (Pro) Ring up items hands-free while the buyer waits. Just tap the microphone and speak naturally — "Mary, three t-shirts two dollars, John, one lamp five dollars" — and the items appear in the cart, attributed to the right seller at the right price. Powered by on-device speech recognition, Voice Mode works without an internet connection. Included with the Pro upgrade.

• Refunds Issue item-by-item refunds on any past transaction. Scan the QR code on a printed receipt or find the transaction in history to start a refund. Each refunded item is logged and reflected in seller totals and reports.

• Close Out / Daily Reports Tap "Close Out" to take a snapshot of the day's sales, reset the cash box, and start fresh — without erasing any history. Each close-out period has its own detailed report with per-seller breakdowns, exportable as PDF.

• Barcode Scanning Point your phone's camera at any UPC barcode to instantly pull up a registered inventory item and add it to the cart — no typing required. Works in both sale mode and inventory registration mode.

• Inventory Management Register items with a name, price, UPC barcode, and seller. Optional settings per item include:

• Stock quantity tracking — decrement stock on sale, block adding out-of-stock items
• Quick buttons - mark frequently sold items for one-tap quick-add on the sale screen
• Non-taxable flag - exempt specific items from sales tax calculation
• Category - set a per-item category for helping filter quick buttons
• Select seller at sale time - useful when multiple sellers offer the same item at the same price
• Keywords - add alternate search terms so items can be found by spoken or typed synonyms

Inventory Templates let you create reusable item sets to quickly populate a new sale.

• Flexible Payments & Split Payments Record cash alongside any custom payment method labels you define (e.g. Venmo, PayPal, Square, check). The Garage Sale App does not process payments or connect to any payment gateway - you collect money however the buyer wants to pay, then log the method and amount in the app. A single transaction can be split across multiple methods. The app tracks exactly how much was tendered per method and computes change due from cash. Payment method totals are aggregated in the Reports screen.

• Receipts After completing a sale, generate an itemized paper-style receipt showing each item, its seller, subtotal, tax, total, and change due. Receipts include a customizable header and footer (set in Settings). Email a receipt directly via your device's mail app, or print wirelessly to any AirPrint or network printer. Receipts include a QR code for quick refund lookup.

• Sales Tax Configure a tax rate and enable or disable tax globally in Settings. Individual inventory items can be marked non-taxable. The checkout screen shows subtotal, taxable subtotal, tax amount, and total. Receipts mark tax-exempt items with an asterisk. The Reports screen correctly apportions tax to each seller based only on their taxable sales.

• Reports The Reports screen provides a real-time summary of the day's sales including total revenue, total tax collected, and a printable per-seller breakdown with expandable transaction history. A cash box tracker shows your starting balance and running cash total. All data can be exported as JSON for your records.
