The hard part was never the shutter button. It is knowing how a shot should be framed, and what color it should be. Mola Camera hands both to AI and to a palette you can drag.

■ AI COMPOSITION ASSIST

Tap the gold sparkle and Mola reads the scene in real time, then works out how this shot should be framed.

A white dot and a target circle appear on screen. Move your phone until the dot meets the circle, and your framing is done. The gold frame locks on and the camera zooms to your subject automatically, with no pinching to guess at zoom levels.

People and landscapes follow different logic: where a person sits in the frame and how much space to leave, or where the subject, horizon and balance fall in a scene. Mola also tells you what it sees and why it framed the shot that way. Disagree? Tap to pick the subject yourself.

It works while recording video too, using optical zoom only.

■ THE PALETTE: COLOR YOU CAN DRAG

Seventeen palettes on a two-axis pad with live preview. Drag sideways to shift the tone, up and down for strength, and the viewfinder changes as you go. When it looks right, shoot. What you saw is what gets saved, with no trip through an editing app afterwards.

When you use an AI feature, the current viewfinder frame is sent to a cloud model for analysis; we explain this and ask for your consent the first time. Your photos stay in your own library, and no location is recorded unless you turn that on.
