Self-hosted task management
New in 3.0: Vikunja API v2 support. One request instead of dozens — refreshes are much faster.
Veyrn is a native task manager for Mac, iPhone, and Apple Watch that connects to your own Vikunja instance — self-hosted or Vikunja Cloud.
It requires a Vikunja server and an API token. Veyrn has no account and no backend of its own: your tasks live on your server and go nowhere else. Works with any Vikunja 2.x instance, and uses the faster v2 API automatically on 2.4.0 and later.
QUICK ADD, IN PLAIN LANGUAGE
Type "Pay rent tomorrow +Ho *bi !2" and Veyrn works out the date, project (Home), label (bills), and priority as you type. Recurrence too — "every week", "every 2 months". On the Mac, a global hotkey opens Quick Add from anywhere. On iPhone, Home Screen Quick Actions jump straight to a new task. Got a long list somewhere else? Paste or drag in a plain-text file and import it all at once.
ORGANIZED THE WAY YOU ALREADY THINK
Inbox, Scheduled, Logbook, and Projects in a familiar sidebar. Subtasks with an inline checklist and progress badge. Rich text notes with bold, italic, links, and bullets. Project and label colors carried through the whole interface.
WIDGETS EVERYWHERE
Upcoming tasks grouped by date on the Mac and iPhone Home Screen, plus Lock Screen and StandBy widgets. Check things off without opening the app.
ON YOUR WRIST
An Apple Watch app with Scheduled and Inbox views, tap to complete, and Quick Add by dictation or Scribble. Complications and a Smart Stack widget keep the next thing in front of you.
KEEPS WORKING WHEN YOUR CONNECTION DOESN'T
Changes you make offline are queued and sent as soon as you're back. Reminders sync to your notification center.
BUILT FOR REAL SETUPS
Up to five Vikunja accounts — the same server or different ones — switched from Settings. API tokens are stored in the system Keychain and shared securely between the app, its widgets, and the Watch.
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Veyrn talks only to the server you point it at. If you send a bug report, the optional diagnostic log never contains your hostnames, tokens, or task content, and you can read the whole thing before it sends. Anonymous usage analytics are on by default and can be switched off in Settings.
Not affiliated with Vikunja in any way. This is just how I like to work with my tasks, and I thought others might like it too.
