ABOUT THE HANDICAP INDEX

Flash Caddie calculates your index using the USGA World Handicap System formula:

differential = (113 / slope) × (adjusted_score − course_rating)

Your index is the average of your best 8 differentials from your last 20 rounds. Fewer than 20 rounds? Flash Caddie uses the reduced-count table so you get a meaningful number from round one. Rounds played on courses without a rating and slope are excluded automatically.

Prefer to use your official club handicap? Toggle the manual override in Settings.
