We made BookCloud for our own family: two parents, three languages, and shelves that never quite held every language we wanted our child to grow up reading. So we built a calm, ad-free library of bilingual picture books — the same illustrated story across each of your languages, with warm narration so your child can listen as they read. It's free, and you're welcome to it too.

THE SAME STORY, IN YOUR LANGUAGES Add the languages your family lives in and switch a book between them, page for page. Most stories come with expressive read-aloud narration, in language after language. It's a library growing one language and one book at a time — heritage languages, languages you're learning, languages you want to keep close.

SAFE BY DESIGN Every book is read before it joins the library and sorted by the age it's really for. Older tales are gently retold to suit young readers. Our stories come from the public domain and from non-profit publishers who share their work openly. We use AI to help adapt, illustrate, translate and narrate — then review every edition before it reaches a child, and credit on each book what a person made and what was AI-assisted, so you always know.

BUILT TO BE PUT DOWN No points. No streaks. No autoplay. Nothing here is engineered to keep your child in the app. It opens to a story and it's easy to set down — that's the point, not a flaw.

A SHELF FOR EACH CHILD Every child gets their own profile: their favourites, the languages they're reading in, and the milestones that actually matter — re-reading a book they love, trying a new kind of story, reading in another language, and reading it together with you. We mark depth and curiosity, never streaks or scores. It's a keepsake for you, not a leaderboard for them.

YOURS TO CONTROL Build each child's shelf by age, topic and language — or leave it open to everything. The parent area lives behind a PIN, so the settings stay yours.

MADE FOR EVERY KIND OF READER Large, hyperlegible type and a calm, motion-gentle design come as standard, not as a settings panel — because roughly one child in ten is dyslexic, and inclusion shouldn't be a toggle. Full-bleed pages adapt to phone or tablet, portrait or landscape.

A FEW CONVICTIONS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PRODUCT • A child's reading time isn't for sale — no ads, no third-party trackers. • Reading is reading, not a game with a scoreboard. • We add to reading, we don't replace it: every book opens ready to share, a grown-up and a child together. • We level books, not children. We never test your child or tell you they're "behind". • The languages your family carries aren't a feature. They're the point.

BookCloud is a real reader, and it's free. It's still in testing as the library grows language by language — we'd rather get this right than get this big.
