Hidden camera & tracker scan
A privacy sweep you can actually trust — because we tell you what we find AND what we can't. Five layers. Runs on your iPhone. Nothing leaves your device.
Going somewhere unfamiliar? An Airbnb, vacation rental, or a space you
don't fully trust?
ClearSight is a privacy awareness tool that helps you check your space
for hidden cameras and tracking devices — using only your iPhone. Built
for travelers, professionals on the road, hosts checking their own
rentals, and anyone who wants more confidence about a space.
FIVE WAYS TO CHECK A SPACE
Network Scan
Surfaces signs of cameras and IoT devices on the local Wi-Fi — open RTSP
streaming ports, ONVIF responses, camera-vendor service announcements,
and port patterns common to Hikvision, Dahua, Wyze, Ring, and generic
IP cameras. Each device is shown with the evidence behind its
classification, so you can judge for yourself.
Bluetooth & Tracker Scan
Detects nearby Bluetooth trackers — including AirTags, Tile, Samsung
SmartTag, Chipolo, and Pebblebee. Because iOS hides AirTag identifying
data from third-party apps, we flag matches as "Possible AirTag" rather
than overclaiming — but the underlying detection (manufacturer codes,
signal behavior) still catches the most common scenarios. Also surfaces
unknown Bluetooth devices with unusually strong or persistent signals.
Infrared (IR) Camera Scan
Helps reveal cameras using night vision. IR LEDs are invisible to your
eyes but show up to your phone's camera in a dark room. Sweep slowly
and watch for bright points — most warrant investigation, though some
household electronics (TVs, remotes) can also produce small IR glints.
Lens Detector
Uses your flashlight and optical retroreflection to spot hidden camera
lenses — including unpowered ones. Works best when the lens roughly
faces the phone, ambient light is low, and you move slowly. Small or
recessed lenses are harder to catch. Use it as a thorough sweep, not a
guarantee.
Physical Inspection Guide
30 guided checkpoints for the highest-risk hiding spots — smoke
detectors, alarm clocks, air vents, screw holes, decorative objects.
Catches things technology can't reach.
TRAVEL MODE
A guided 5-step room sweep that runs every layer in the right order.
Designed for the first 10 minutes after you check in.
PERIODIC RE-SCAN
Optionally re-runs the network scan during your stay. Notifies you when
the device list changes — useful for awareness, though new devices have
many normal causes (guests' phones, smart TVs powering up).
ROUTER PORT CHECK
Scans the gateway router for open ports and exposed services that
could indicate remote streaming or unusual configuration. Useful for
spotting setups where cameras stream to the internet without obvious
signs on the device itself.
PRIVACY THAT ISN'T A PROMISE — IT'S AN ARCHITECTURE
Everything ClearSight detects stays on your device. Scan results,
device lists, photos, reports — never uploaded. ClearSight does not
send telemetry or phone home. Apple provides us aggregated install and
retention metrics through App Store Connect; nothing in those
analytics identifies you.
WHERE CLEARSIGHT WORKS BEST
Most effective in short-term rentals, Airbnbs, friends' homes, and
spaces where the host runs the same Wi-Fi the guest is using. Less
effective in hotels and large venues, where surveillance cameras are
typically isolated on management networks that no guest-side scanner
can reach. The IR scan, lens detector, Bluetooth scan, and physical
checklist still work in any environment.
WHAT CLEARSIGHT IS NOT
ClearSight is a privacy awareness aid, not a certified security
instrument. No scanning technology — including professional-grade
equipment — can guarantee 100% detection of every possible
surveillance device. Cameras using cellular networks, offline
storage-only devices, or equipment on a separate network fall outside
what any Wi-Fi scanner can reach. Use ClearSight alongside physical
inspection for the most thorough check.
