New: templates for your usual meals — one tap logs them. And a widget with calories left and the last seven days, right on your home screen.
Most calorie counters act like you're almost there. nope doesn't.
Say what you ate, or photograph the plate. nope works out the calories, takes them off your daily budget, and tells you once a day, plainly, whether you're on track. Counting calories without it turning into a second job.
nope won't flatter you. No streaks, no confetti, no "great job, keep it up." If you're behind, it says you're behind. It speaks up when there's something to say, and stays quiet otherwise.
Whether you want to lose weight or hold it: nope keeps the diary, you make the calls.
How it works:
You set a goal weight and a date. nope turns that into a fair daily budget and spreads the deficit over time. Not a crash diet, just a number that fits your pace.
You log meals faster than in any database. You speak them or photograph the plate. nope reads the meal and the calories, you confirm with a tap and fix what's off. No search field, no database to scroll, no confetti.
Once a day you get one line. On plan. Ahead. Or behind, with the number behind it. No constant fireworks, no reward animation.
Then you stick with it, or you don't. nope keeps the books and counts how many calories are left until your goal.
What nope does:
By voice: Say what you ate. Speech recognition runs on the device, picks up the meal and the calories, you confirm with a tap.
By photo: Photograph the plate, nope recognizes the food and estimates the calories. Faster than any search field.
Templates: nope notices what you eat often and puts it on the home screen as a chip. One tap logs it.
Goal and daily budget: Start weight, goal weight, a date, and from that a fair budget that spreads the deficit over time. Intermittent fasting as a strategy if you want it.
Honest status: One plain line a day. On plan, ahead, or behind. No reward animations, no guilt on demand.
Gaps stay gaps: days without an entry don't quietly count as perfect days. Settle them with a tap — fasted, a normal day — or leave them open.
Widget: calories left and the last seven days on your home screen, plus two lock screen widgets.
HealthKit: If you let it, nope reads weight and active energy from Apple Health. On active days your daily budget grows.
EU-hosted and private: Your own account, your data isolated from everyone else's (Row Level Security), hosting in the EU. No tracking, no ads, sign in with Apple.
Your data is yours:
nope sells nothing and shows no ads. What you eat and weigh is your diary, not raw material for an ad business.
nope Plus:
The app is fully usable without a subscription. Tracking, history, forecast, HealthKit, and voice input on supported devices stay free. Everything that runs on the device itself.
nope Plus unlocks two things: photo recognition, and cloud recognition on older iPhones without on-device AI. Both run through OpenAI in the cloud. Only the photo or text and the context needed for recognition are sent, no account data. The data is not used for advertising and not stored permanently.
nope Plus costs 2.99 euros a month or 19.99 euros a year. 7 days free, paid after that. The subscription runs through your Apple ID and renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage it anytime in your Apple ID account.
No coach, no applause. The number, a daily budget, and the truth about where you stand. The rest is on you.
