Iris turns your iPhone's camera and voice into an AI-powered visual assistant. Tap to ask a question, point your camera at the world, and Iris describes what it sees — out loud, instantly.

Whether you need to know what's on a menu, identify an object on your desk, find the right door in an unfamiliar building, or just get a quick description of your surroundings, Iris is there to help. Built for people who are blind or have low vision, with VoiceOver-first accessibility at every touchpoint.

KEY FEATURES

Scene descriptions — Aim, tap, ask. Iris uses Google's Gemini AI to describe what's in front of you in a sentence or two. Direct, hazard-aware, and designed for real-world use.

Text reading — Point at a sign, a menu, a book, and ask Iris to read it. Iris reads text aloud using natural-sounding speech.

Your voice, your questions — Ask freely: "What's in front of me?", "Is that a dog or a cat?", "What does this label say?" Iris understands natural language through on-device speech recognition.

Natural spoken responses — Powered by ElevenLabs' realistic text-to-speech, so answers sound human, not robotic. Audio plays even when your phone is on silent, so you can use Iris discreetly.

Saved history — Every question and answer is saved to your private history, so you can review what you asked earlier today or last week.

Private by default — Camera frames are processed and immediately discarded — never stored by Iris. Nothing is used for advertising or tracking. Sign in with Apple, or use Iris as a guest.

Full control — Delete your account and all your data with one tap, anytime.

ACCESSIBILITY

Iris is designed for VoiceOver users. Every button, every state change, and every response is announced clearly. Hold-to-talk supports single-finger gestures, and audio playback is optimized for listening with or without headphones.

FAIR LIMITS

To keep Iris free and available for everyone, usage is capped at 30 questions per day per user. The limit resets at midnight.
