Bouldering, hangboard, recovery — one tool, not three apps. Bloc logs live, counts sets, and tracks how long your fingers need.

Bloc is the native training app for boulderers who care about what happened in a session and what their fingers do between them. iPhone and Apple Watch work as one.

LIVE SESSION

Start a session from a widget or straight from your wrist. Log attempts, flashes, and sends with a single tap, then pick route color, grade (Font, V-scale, or Level), and style. Dictate notes. The session runs as a HealthKit workout in the climbing category, with a Live Activity and Dynamic Island.

HANGBOARD PROTOCOLS

Four structured protocols, ready to use: • Abrahangs — long isometric, tendon-friendly • MaxHangs — maximum strength on a defined edge • Repeaters — strength endurance for bouldering • Density Hangs — sub-maximal volume

Interval timer, three-two-one countdown, on-wrist set-pips, and per-set RPE. Each hold carries its own recovery window of 48 to 72 hours before it turns green again.

PULL-UPS

Rep counters and rest timers for climbing-specific pulling strength. From a one-rep max test to pyramid sets.

PROJECTS & ROUTE JOURNAL

Create projects, attach attempts, add photos and notes. Filter by gym, sector, and date. Every sent line moves automatically into your history.

STATS

A heatmap of session density, grade distribution over time, style breakdown, project streaks, and trend cards. No pop-ups, no leaderboards — just your curves.

APPLE WATCH, WIDGET & LIVE ACTIVITY

The Watch app starts and ends sessions, logs attempts, picks the location, and shows set-pips during your hangs. A start widget sits on the Home Screen. The running session shows up in Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen.

PRIVACY & ICLOUD

All data lives in an encrypted database on your device. Sync runs through iCloud into your own account. No third-party servers, no accounts, no ads, no analytics. Workouts flow into the Health app whenever you grant permission.

The hangboard protocols follow established approaches from performance testing and finger-strength research. Bloc does not replace a coach or a physio — it just makes visible the plan you already carry in your head.
