GatherSafe is a communication app for church security and safety teams — the volunteers who cover services, watch the parking lot, and respond when something happens.

REQUIRES AN INVITE FROM YOUR CHURCH

GatherSafe is provided by your church or organization. Only the organization pays for a plan; individual members are never charged. To use the app you need an invite from your organization's GatherSafe administrator. If you don't have one yet, reach out to your church's security lead before signing up.

WHAT IT DOES

Push-to-talk voice Press to talk, release to listen — like a radio, over cellular or Wi-Fi. Works with Bluetooth PTT accessories, and keeps running in the background so you don't miss a call while your phone is in your pocket.

Team messaging Encrypted group messaging organized by team. Messages queue when you lose signal and send themselves when you're back in range.

Panic alerts One press sends your location and an alert level to the people who need it. Three levels — Attention, Warning, Emergency — so a lost child and an active threat never look the same on someone's screen.

Live team map See where your team is during a service. Location sharing is opt-in and meant for time on duty.

Incident reports Log what happened with photos, location and timestamps, so your leadership has a record worth reviewing later.

Response plans Write your procedures ahead of time and broadcast one in a single tap. Nobody should have to recall a checklist under pressure.

Service scheduling Know who is covering which service, with check-in before the doors open.

Lead and sub-teams. Your lead team hears every channel. Parking, interior, children's wing and medical stay separate from one another, so the traffic on each stays worth listening to.

Voice hours. Admins can set which days and times a voice channel is open, so channels are live when your team is on duty and closed when they aren't.

SECURITY

Messages are encrypted with AES-256 and protected in transit with TLS. Voice runs over SRTP. The app itself locks behind Face ID, Touch ID or a PIN, so a phone left in a pew is not a compromised roster.

Encryption keys are managed by GatherSafe's servers rather than held only on your device. We publish our actual threat model — what the encryption protects against and what it does not — at gathersafeapp.com/privacy, because a security team deserves specifics rather than a slogan.
