1-bit is a private, bit-exact music player for iPhone and iPad. Play your own files from a UPnP/DLNA media server, an SMB share, your own 1-bit-bridge server, or a folder on your device. No cloud, no login, no account.

SOURCES • UPnP/DLNA media servers on your Wi-Fi: NAS, MiniDLNA, Plex, a Chord 2Go. Found automatically, streamed bit-exact, DSD included. • SMB shares on your home network. • 1-bit-bridge, a free, open-source (MIT) server you run on Mac, Linux, Pi, or Windows. Pinned HTTPS, tap-to-pair by Bonjour or QR. • Any folder on your device or an external drive, picked in Files, nothing copied. Download for bit-exact offline play. • No server yet? Add the read-only demo library in one tap.

AUDIO • Bit-exact PCM (FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC, MP3, M4A) up to the limits of your DAC. • Bit-exact DSD over DoP for DSF and DSDIFF, up to DSD512, with a USB DAC that reports DoP lock (Chord, iFi, Topping, Mytek and others). • Gapless when adjacent tracks match. Per-DAC tuning, anti-click rate switching, and thermal-aware buffering keep DSD256/512 smooth. • Spatial audio (beta): a binaural renderer that opens stereo out around you, with head tracking on supported AirPods. PCM only; DSD untouched.

SEE WHAT YOU HEAR • Signal Path shows what actually reached your DAC, with an optional live spectrum and true-peak analyzer that only reads the audio. • Whole-track analysis answers "is this really hi-res?" by measuring where the music actually stops. A bridge adds dynamic range, key, tempo, and a FLAC checksum that flags an altered file.

VOICE, SIRI & CARPLAY • "Hey Siri, play [album, artist, playlist, or genre] on 1-bit", at home, hands-free, or in the car. Shortcuts and Spotlight too. • In CarPlay: Recently Added, Recently Played, Artists, Albums, Playlists, Favorites, and Downloads, A to Z indexed, with voice search and one-tap Shuffle. • PCM only over CarPlay; DSD stays hidden to avoid head-unit incompatibility.

HOME MIXES (WITH A BRIDGE) • Your bridge builds mixes from your listening: Heavy Rotation, Daily Mix, On Repeat, Favorites and more. Your history never leaves your server, and mixes can cache overnight for offline play.

OUTPUT • Play here through a USB DAC, AirPods, AirPlay 2, or the speaker. • Or cast to a DLNA renderer such as a Chord 2Go, streaming from the source and keeping your iPhone out of the path.

LIBRARY • Fast enough for 50,000+ tracks across all your sources, with the first scan carrying on overnight while charging. • Browse by artist, album, composer, genre, folder, or playlist, with cached artwork and an "Appears On" section for guest spots. Search everything and filter by source. • Heart any track or album for a Favorites section that can follow you across devices when you run a bridge. • Composer and Genre pages tuned for classical name forms and multi-genre tags, alongside conductor, work, original year, BPM and performer credits.

PLAYER • Now Playing with a real waveform scrubber, drawn on device when your source has none, plus a signal-path readout. • Resume where you left off; queue and position come back after closing. • Home Screen widget, plus Lock Screen and Control Center transport. • Offline, playback moves on to the next downloaded track instead of stopping. • Sleep timer, plus optional crossfeed and spatial audio for PCM.

BRIDGE EXTRAS (ALL OFF BY DEFAULT) • Upscaling: higher-rate PCM variants made on your own hardware, with the original always one tap away. • Atlas: artist and album notes plus better cover art, fetched anonymously. • Backup: playlists, favorites, and playback history to your own bridge, never shared.

PRIVACY • No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no accounts. Optional lookups (Deezer artist images, Atlas metadata) are anonymous and off by default. • Passwords and tokens live in the iOS Keychain. Traffic stays on your LAN unless you reach a remote bridge, and logs stay on the device unless you share them.
