Afterglance

afterglance is for moments when two people noticed each other and never spoke — a coffee shop, a train, a quiet street corner.

it only works if both sides remember the same moment the same way. a one-sided note goes nowhere and fades within 48 hours. a private conversation opens only when two independent notes agree, from both sides, about the same place and time.

somewhere else, the same moment might be living in someone else's note. if their description of you matches your description of them, and the place and time agree, a quiet conversation opens between the two of you. only then.

no profiles. no photos. no usernames. no public feed.

— the privacy part we keep almost nothing. the approximate place, the time, and the text of the note while it's active. no name, no photo, no contacts, no location history. notes fade within 48 hours if they don't connect. once a conversation ends, the notes that led to it are gone.

the text you write in a note is sent to anthropic's claude api so we can check whether two notes describe the same moment. this is disclosed on the welcome screen and in privacy settings.

— safety afterglance is intended for thoughtful, consensual social use by people 18 and older. content that violates our community standards is not permitted, and we enforce this actively.

every note and every message is automatically screened before it reaches anyone else. from any conversation you can report a message or remove the other person with one tap. flagged content is reviewed by a human within 24 hours, and accounts that violate our standards lose access and have their data removed.
