Folio is an app for the moments you didn't plan: the bird on your fence, the wildflower by the curb, the lizard on a sun-warm stoop. It's an app for noticing.

Other apps tell you what something is and disappear. Folio turns "what is this?" into "I'll remember this." Every encounter becomes a hand-painted watercolor portrait, archived in your folio with the date, the place, and the small story you choose to add.

HOW IT WORKS

Point your camera at a plant or animal. Folio identifies the species. A watercolor portrait — painted just for this encounter — appears moments later. The encounter is logged with an Encounter Index that marks how unusual the moment was: Common Find, Seasonal Find, Rare Find, or Fated Find. Add a Collector's Log if you want to remember more than the species name. Each entry settles into your folio.

Every species comes with a short, well-told Field Notes entry — the kind of thing a knowledgeable friend would tell you while standing next to you. No textbook prose. No taxonomy lectures. Just what's worth knowing.

Each encounter generates a Field Journal card — composed like a specimen page, not a screenshot. Post it to Instagram, Xiaohongshu, or anywhere else you keep things. The encounter sentence shifts with the rarity tier — a Fated Find feels different from a Common one, and the card reflects that.
