VoxelVision is a spatial medical imaging viewer that floats your scans in the space around you. Import DICOM, NIfTI, or NRRD data and explore it in an entirely new dimension — view orthogonal MPR in 2D, or view and measure with double-oblique MPR in 3D. Five sample datasets (CT, MR, PET, NIfTI, and NRRD) are built in, so you can start exploring the moment you open the app. On iPad and Apple Vision Pro, open multiple windows to work with several studies at once.

BUILT ON APPLE'S NATIVE TECHNOLOGIES

VoxelVision is made for devices that sense space. Hold up an iPhone or iPad, or look through Apple Vision Pro, and you move the device itself to look through a volume from any angle — a way of reading images a desktop screen and mouse simply can't offer. Because it's built directly on Apple's own frameworks — SwiftUI, RealityKit, ARKit, and Metal, with no cross-platform layer in between — every interaction lands the moment you make it, the interface reflows to fit any screen or window, and everything runs on-device with nothing to wait for. The features below build on that foundation.

BROWSE SLICES

View your imaging in axial, coronal, and sagittal planes. A shared crosshair marks the intersection point of the three planes, with live voxel coordinates and intensity readouts. Adjust window width and level with presets suited to your data — organ windows for CT, and full-range, wide, and narrow presets for other modalities. NIfTI and NRRD volumes can opt into CT presets when appropriate. Invert or mirror views with a single tap, or set window width and level freely with sliders.

IMMERSIVE 3D VISUALIZATION

The Oblique Plane Viewer turns your imaging into a 3D volume you can walk around and examine from any side. Scale, rotate, and reposition it freely. Cut through anatomy at any angle, drag to reposition the plane, or let the slice follow your viewpoint hands-free. Window and level presets are available directly in immersive mode. Oblique Plane Viewer is available as an in-app purchase.

MARK & MEASURE

Inside the Oblique Plane Viewer, place markers directly in 3D and capture measurements as you go — distances between points, angles, and multi-point paths. Export all your measurements to the Files app as a CSV.

IMPORT YOUR DATA

Import DICOM folders, or NIfTI and NRRD files, directly from the Files app — from local storage, external drives, network shares, iCloud Drive, and supported cloud providers. Drag and drop, or open files from another app. VoxelVision scans DICOM folders, groups files by series, and lets you choose which series to import. All data is processed and stored locally on your device — nothing is ever uploaded.

PRIVACY BY DESIGN

VoxelVision processes everything on your device. No data collection, no analytics, no ads, no cloud services. Your medical imaging data never leaves your device. The app contains no third-party crash reporting or advertising SDKs. The only network connection is for In-App Purchases. Built-in runtime logs contain no protected health information and are only exported when you choose.
