Deck: One Task at a Time

Do it, defer it, or drop it.

Features & Capabilities

Every task app shows you everything you're not doing. Deck shows you one card. Do it, defer it, or drop it — then face the next one. That's the whole app.

Deck shows you one card.

Not a list. Not a dashboard. Not a project view. One card — the one you added first, or the one you care most about, or the one you've been avoiding for a week. Do it, defer it, or drop it. Then the next one.

The constraint is not a focus mode. There is no list view hidden behind a button. The single card is all you get, and that's the whole point. Most task apps give you a complete picture of everything you're not doing. That picture is the anxiety. Deck's bet is that the right amount of context is one item — the one you're dealing with now or explicitly punting. Everything else is noise.

When you defer a card, the count goes up. A card deferred five times is no longer a task — it's a decision you're avoiding. Deck shows you the count. Over time it becomes quiet self-knowledge: not what you've done, but what you keep refusing to do.

Done requires a press-and-hold, not a tap. While you hold, the button fills from left to right. Release early and nothing happens. Hold through and the card is gone. The friction is deliberate.

What Deck doesn't do:

No notifications. Deferred cards return silently when their time comes. The app does not chase you.

No due dates. If a thing needs to happen at a specific moment, your calendar handles that.

No tags. No priorities. No projects. No sub-tasks. These are the mechanisms that turn task apps into anxiety machines. Their absence is not an oversight.

No AI suggestions. You decide what goes in the deck. The app helps you face it.

Free: one deck, up to 50 active cards, three defer options, seven days of history, a home screen widget.

Pro adds multiple decks, unlimited cards, jump the queue, the Graveyard (a full searchable history of every card you've dropped), defer analytics, custom defer schedules, Shortcuts integration, and Pro widgets. See in-app pricing.

One card at a time.
