Allergy-friendly restaurants
Food allergy? Then you know you start from zero every time. New place, same questions, no one who went before you to ask. Safe Allergies is building that missing memory.
You read every label, ask every question, weigh every choice. And next time you do it all again, because the good experience you had last week lives only in your head. So does everyone else's. There has never been a shared memory for people with food allergies. We are building one, with you.
Safe Allergies is made by and with people who live with food allergies. You are not figuring this out alone anymore. Inside you will find real experiences laid out as plain checklists, allergy menus, allergen info dish by dish, and what each restaurant shares, all filtered to your own allergy.
HOW IT WORKS
- Set your allergies, and mark each one as strict avoidance or okay with traces.
- Search restaurants and see the dishes that fit your profile, the allergy menus people uploaded, and what others with your allergy experienced.
- Decide at home, with something to go on, instead of at the table under pressure.
WHY THERE ARE NO STARS
A five star average tells you nothing about your allergy. A place everyone loves can still run a kitchen where everything meets the same surface. So we skip scores and rankings. Every visit becomes a short checklist instead. What the staff did. How they knew what was in the food. How it ended. Facts you can act on, not opinions about the pasta.
For each dish, the allergen information is confirmed by other people with the same allergy, so you can see how recent it is and how many backed it up. Accuracy matters more than speed.
WHERE THE INFORMATION COMES FROM
Three sources, side by side. The community, who upload allergy menus and share what happened. The restaurants themselves, when they publish their own allergy menus, protocols, or certifications. And official sources, like government food safety inspections, where that data is available. You see each one for what it is, and you weigh it yourself.
WHO IT IS FOR
People with food allergies. Parents of children with allergies. People managing conditions like celiac disease and lactose intolerance. Anyone choosing a restaurant for someone they love.
WHICH ALLERGIES
All 14 EU allergens, each one filterable on its own: gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soybeans, milk (including lactose), tree nuts, celery, mustard, sesame, sulphites, lupin, and molluscs. What you read filters down to the allergy that matters to you, not a generic average of everyone.
WHAT WE ARE NOT
Safe Allergies is not medical advice, and it is not a safety guarantee. We will never tell you a restaurant is safe for you, because that is not a judgment an app can reliably make. We show what a restaurant communicates, what other people experienced, and how current that information is. Even a restaurant's own protocols and an official inspection describe general practice, not a promise about your allergy on the night you go. The decision, and the conversation with your doctor, the waiter, and the chef, stays with you.
A COMMUNITY JUST GETTING STARTED
At launch the database is small and focused on the Netherlands. It grows with every experience shared, every allergy menu uploaded, and every dish confirmed. Every review you add is one less person walking in blind. Every detail you add is one less surprise at the table.
YOUR MOVE
Set your profile, explore what is already there, and share an experience when you can. Welcome. We are glad you are here.
