Teacher Professional Training
COE Courses is an educational training management application built for the College of Education (COE), a school within the University of the Nations (UofN), part of Youth With A Mission (YWAM). The app is developed and maintained by ThisCity (Apps & Services) on behalf of the College of Education.
The application serves as a comprehensive platform for managing training cohorts, course content, and student progress across in-person and online educational programmes. It is used by course administrators, trainers/teachers, and students enrolled in COE training programmes worldwide.
Key features include:
Cohort Management: Create and manage training cohorts with structured sessions, learning objectives, resources, and assessments. Each cohort has configurable visibility, scheduling, and enrollment settings.
Course Templates: Build reusable course templates with units, learning objectives, sessions, and pre-configured content that can be applied to new cohorts.
Learning Content: Upload and organise learning resources including documents, videos, video reels, links, and interactive activities within each session.
Speakers: Add speaker profiles with photos, bios, and video content to sessions, allowing cohort leaders to showcase guest speakers and their presentations.
Assessments & Grading: Create assignments with rubric-based grading, track student submissions, and manage grades across the cohort.
Attendance Tracking: Record and monitor student attendance for each session with support for multiple attendance statuses.
Student Profiles: Manage student information including enrollment, progress tracking, and certificate eligibility.
Groups: Organise students into groups within cohorts for collaborative activities.
Finance: Track fees and financial information related to cohort enrollment.
Role-Based Access: Three-tier permission system (administrators, trainers/teachers, students) ensuring appropriate data access and content management capabilities.
The app requires Google Sign-in and Apple Sign-in to provide secure, convenient authentication for users across all platforms. Users may also sign in with email/password or a guest access code. The application accesses only the user's basic profile information (name, email, profile photo) from their Google or Apple account to create and manage their user account within the platform.
All data is stored securely on Google Firebase infrastructure with role-based access controls. The app does not sell, share, or use personal data for advertising purposes. Data is used solely for educational programme administration.
The application serves educational institutions and training programmes operated by the College of Education globally.
