BC Prehab App

Adds the SORT surgical risk calculator, and the ability to take or import multiple medication photos when using the ScanRx (Medication Scanner) feature.

BC Prehab brings evidence-informed perioperative medication management to the point of care. Brought to you by the BC Prehab Faculty supported by the Perioperative Clinical Action Network (PCAN), it turns complex hold-and-continue decisions into a clear, date-specific plan — so every member of the surgical team works from the same page.

The app does not replace clinical judgement or individualised patient assessment. It is a decision-support reference for healthcare professionals.

• Search hundreds of brand-name and generic medications to retrieve evidence-informed perioperative guidance: continue, hold, or individualize.
• Enter a surgical date and receive an exact calendar-based timeline
• Scan a prescription label or medication list with ScanRx (Beta) to surface matching database entries for clinician confirmation.
• Generate a physician summary PDF (with clinical rationale and references) and a patient-friendly handout (with plain-language instructions and dates) in one tap.
• Access curated prehabilitation resources — exercise, nutrition, smoking cessation, alcohol reduction, and psychological preparation.
• Access perioperative clinical calculators for quick reference.
• Flag any concerns directly to the BC Prehab Faculty for review.

BUILT FOR CLINICIANS

BC Prehab is designed for anesthesiologists, surgeons, internists, family physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and allied health professionals involved in perioperative care across BC and beyond. Where guidance requires clinical judgment, entries are explicitly prefixed — "Unless advised otherwise by your care team" — so the boundary between reference information and individualised decision-making is always visible. Patient-facing PDF exports are intended to be reviewed by a clinician before being shared with a patient or caregiver.

PRIVACY & OFFLINE USE

BC Prehab collects no personal data, uses no analytics, and contains no third-party tracking SDKs. Medication selections are stored locally on your device. All PDF exports are generated on-device and shared through your own email or messaging apps — nothing leaves your device via our servers, because we have no servers involved in your workflow. The app works fully offline after first launch; no network connection is required to search medications or generate exports.
