Beam & Column Calculators
This app analyzes simply-supported beams under uniformly distributed loads, midspan point loads, or a point load placed at any custom position along the span — an off-center case that other tools often omit. Results include maximum moment, shear, deflection, bending stress, and a demand/capacity ratio with a clear PASS/FAIL verdict. Column analysis covers Euler buckling and yield capacity for rectangular, circular, and I-beam sections across four end-condition cases.
ASCE 7-22 Load Combinations (new)
Enter service loads — dead, live, roof live, snow, wind, and seismic — and this app instantly generates all seven LRFD combinations (§2.3.1) and nine ASD combinations (§2.4.1) side by side, with the governing case clearly flagged.
Structural Unit Converter (new)
Convert between metric and imperial units across four categories engineers use every day: Force (N, kN, lbf, kips, kgf), Stress and Pressure (Pa, kPa, MPa, GPa, psi, ksi, ksf), Moment (N·m, kN·m, kip·ft, kip·in, lbf·ft), and Length (m, cm, mm, ft, in). A full multi-unit reference table updates instantly with every entry.
Inspection Checklist (new)
A digital field inspection checklist tailored to four structure types — house, bridge, building, and retaining wall. Rate each item on a 1–5 condition scale (Good / Fair / Marginal / Poor / Critical) or mark it N/A. Add notes per item. Track an overall condition score derived from rated items only, with color-coded feedback.
Structure Assessment
Screen houses, bridges, multi-story buildings, and retaining walls by entering geometry, materials, and loading. This app computes key quantities — estimated gravity loads, Rankine earth pressures, bridge midspan moments under AASHTO HL-93 — and flags age- and zone-based warnings automatically.

Twelve worked structural engineering problems cover beams, columns, and structure assessments at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Each problem shows the full step-by-step solution with formula, substitution, and numeric result — then runs the live engine and displays the computed answer for verification.
Materials Reference
Quick-reference properties for steel (A36, A992), concrete (21 MPa / 28 MPa), timber (Douglas Fir, Southern Pine), and aluminum (6061-T6), covering Young's modulus, yield strength, and density.
