TC Driver is a mobile app for ACT Government bus drivers and Transport Officers (TOs) to log shifts, calculate fortnightly pay, track leave, and check weekend fatigue eligibility. Available on iOS. All data is stored locally — no backend or cloud sync.
Shift Logging
Log shifts by date, start/end time, role (Driver, HD, TO2–TO4), and type. The app automatically calculates:
Ordinary and overtime hours (full-time weekday threshold: 7.60 hrs)
Split shift penalty — 12.5% on ordinary hours, weekdays only; break entered as a time range
Outside Core Hours (OCH) penalty — 75% for drivers, 100% for TOs; based on 8 configurable time windows per role
Leisure leave deduction — 24 mins per full-time weekday shift (exempt: In Training, Casual, Part-time)
Public holiday pay — worked and unworked; Easter Friday and Christmas Day attract a 200% penalty plus notional pay
Earnings & Pay
Fortnightly payslip breakdowns include ordinary pay, overtime (1.5× or 2×), split and OCH penalties, public holiday components, and tax withholding. Pay rates are stored by role and effective date to support historical rate changes. Tax settings cover scale (1 = no TFT, 2 = claiming TFT) and Medicare levy.
Fatigue Compliance (28-Day Rule)
Every complete 24-hour period within each gap in the rolling 28-day window counts as one rest break: floor(gap_minutes ÷ 1440). Gaps include unworked time before the first shift, between shifts, and after the last shift. The dashboard shows whether the driver can work the upcoming Saturday (≥13 breaks) or Sunday (≥14 breaks), with colour-coded indicators.
Leave Tracking
Log and track Annual, Personal, Leisure, and Other leave. Leisure leave accrues automatically from the 24-minute daily deduction and pays out as 5 days every 22 weeks. Leave entries appear as colour-coded dots on the monthly calendar view.
Profile & Settings
Configure employment type (Full-time, Part-time, Casual, In Training), role, OCH windows, rostered shift hours (school term and vacation networks for part-time shift owners), split shift default, and tax details. Employment type and role support effective dates for mid-year changes.
OCR Shift Card Recognition
Photograph a printed shift card; on-device OCR (Google ML Kit) extracts times and dates to pre-fill the shift log form.
Navigation
Three bottom-nav tabs (Dashboard, History, Calendar) plus a side drawer with Leave, Pay Rates, Profile, Tax Settings, User Guide, and App Info.
