User Reviews

Idle Flight Manager is a fun, addictive airline-management game that’s easy to pick up and serves as a solid time killer. Players enjoy routing, upgrading, and expanding, but several reviews note a lack of lasting challenge: progression is fast, the economy is easy, and endgame depth is thin. Adding longer-term goals, achievements, or more strategic constraints could improve longevity.
Pros
  • Fun, engaging and addictive gameplay.
  • Satisfying core loop of managing routes, upgrading aircraft, and expanding the airline (idle/strategy balance).
  • Great time killer; entertaining for aviation fans.
  • Easy to pick up and play; approachable for casual players.
Cons
  • Endgame lacks depth and progression is too fast, leading to a lack of long-term challenge.
  • The economy is too easy; profits flow with little strategic pressure.
  • The game becomes boring after initial progress; repetitive and without meaningful goals.

Carbon emissions appear to be rapidly accelerating for certain plane types if I have multiple in service - but the emissions per KM stacks cumulatively - this makes no sense?

The Auto Flight Manager $20 add on was very disappointing, it doesn’t actually do anything. Other than that, if you own too many planes the list does not expand. It says “scroll for more” but doesn’t work. A bit of enhancement options would be to allow adding airport slots when adding routes, if airport slots are full you have to close the plane picker, open routes, find the empty one, and add a slot. In the quick plane picker when adding routes, it doesn’t show earnings by plane so you don’t know which to choose and also need to close and go into routes to finish it. When repairing a plane, it unassigns it. When you try to reassign from there, the routes are unsorted and unlabeled so no telling where it went and which ones are unassigned. The Carbon Ledger is a fun idea, but in practice there are no emissions data points on any plane you purchase. How am I supposed to buy more modern or lower emitting fleet if I don’t know what that is? The ads are truly incessant. I had to buy the no ads just to make it bearable. I can appreciate ads to allow a game to be free initially, but this was too much. When adding routes via suggested routes, it tells you demand and estimated earnings. Useful info, this does not exist anywhere else when adding routes. Choosing airports manually in the +New menu is the most logical place to add routes, other than map, but neither will actually tell me the demand. I have to click around the map aimlessly to find high demand airports, then click them over to another that I already know of, then close plane picker and open routes, scroll forever to find it, then add a plane based on revenue. Overall, great concept and I think it has true potential but there’s a lot of work to do here still. It should not be so aggressively monetizing while it is still very clearly in its early stages.
